A Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) worker is recovering after suffering serious injuries when a falling tree limb struck him while he was helping clear debris over the weekend in Lumpkin County following Hurricane Isaias.
ANF reports that the tree that hit Rocky Meeks, a road foreman, fell about 40 feet.
Meeks reportedly suffered several fractures, including injuries to his leg, ankle, back, and neck. Family members said he has already undergone several surgeries and is expected to need additional procedures.
A GoFundMe has been created to help his family cover household expenses and other costs while he remains out of work. Fundraiser by John Shelia : Support Rocky After Devastating Injury
