Early Warning: More 985 lane closures ahead

For the second week in a row the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is warning of a project that will require lane closures on a section of I-985 in Hall County. And this time, part of Gwinnett will be affected.

Last week it was a warning for work in the Elachee Bridge area this week. Get ready for 985 lane closures next week 97.5 Glory FM | North Georgia’s Family Radio Station (wgtjradio.com) Now, comes word of planned lane closures on another section of the interstate next week – and this work is expected to last for several weeks.

GDOT ADVISORY:

WHAT:
For the next few weeks, Georgia DOT 🦺 maintenance crews will be doing slab replacement on Interstate 985 Northbound right lane starting at Mile marker 1 and continuing northward to Hall County.  Work begins Monday, April 22, 2024 to replace broken slabs on the roadway.

WHEN:
Work will occur from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. weather permitting 

WHERE:
The work will be done northbound right lane. Work will continue for several weeks and continue to Hall County.

NOTE:
…The slab replacement requires time for the concrete to set before traffic can restored on the roadway. Delays are expected. Consider alternate routes…”
