GDOT awards Over $7M in resurfacing projects Winder Highway, Dawsonville Highway

 The state Department of Transportation (GDOT) has awarded two roadway projects in Hall County totaling more than $7 million “to enhance safety and improve driving conditions along Winder Highway and Dawsonville Highway

These projects will address pavement wear along key stretches of the roads, a GDOT release says.

 Approximately 2.615 miles of milling and plant mix resurfacing will take place on Winder Highway, beginning south of SR 211 and extending to the Jackson County line.

The contract is for $936,000.

In addition, approximately 6.6 miles of resurfacing will occur on Dawsonville Highway, beginning east of the bridge over the Chestatee River and extending to Lanier Valley Drive.

The contract is for $6.1million. Both projects have a scheduled completion date of Dec. 31.
