The average price of a gallon of gasoline in Gainesville and statewide are each 33 cents lower than a week ago.
The reason given for the big drop? Mainly the governor’s latest suspension of the state gasoline tax. The Gainesville average today is $3.89; the state average, $3.86.
Meanwhile, the national price is also down. It’s $4.36 compared to $4.43 last Monday, according to AAA.
