The national average for a gallon of gas is stuck in neutral and has not budged since last week to stay at $3.06 but in Gainesville the price jumped seven cents to $2.93, while the state average is the same but reflects only a three-cents-a-gallon increase.
Looking back at last year, the retail price for regular unleaded nationwide averaged $3.30 per gallon, 21 cents less than in 2023, according to AAA.
