Gainesville woman facing seven charges of cruelty to animals

A Gainesville woman was arrested Monday and charged with cruelty to animals after county animal control officers, acting on a tip, say they found seven dogs at her residence “in deplorable conditions, including tethered outside and without shelter or water.”

According to Hall County spokeswoman Joy Holmes, animal control responded to a house in the 2000 block of Squires Road after an anonymous caller requested a welfare check at the residence.

Hall County Jail records show Jennifer Rose Finley, 21, is charged with seven counts of cruelty to animals.

The responding animal control officer’s report says she found:

“One black and white lab mix to the right of the driveway tethered up with no shelter or clean water.

One brown and white pit mix to the left of the driveway tethered with no shelter or water.

Another brown and white pit mix to the right of the driveway next to the trailer that was tethered out and had no water or shelter.

One small tan terrier mix behind the trailer tethered up and had no water but did have a dog house.

One black labradoodle tethered out to tree in middle of yard with no water or shelter.

One medium tan sized lab mix that was behind the trailer tethered out with no water, the dog did have a shed to go in and out of.

And one black and grey husky mix that was tethered out and wrapped around a fallen branch so tight he could not move.”
