Gainesville minister meets with Israeli prime minister

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with 14 American evangelical Christian leaders including Gainesville’s Jentzen Franklin at Blair House across the street from the White House during his recent state visit to Washington and a meeting with President Trump.

Others who met with the Israeli leader in a 90-minute closed-door session included Franklin Graham, Robert Jeffress, John Hagee, and Tony Perkins.

Later, according to religionnews.com, in a CBN interview, Franklin, senior pastor of Free Chapel, recounted that Netanyahu expressed gratitude for evangelical leaders’ steadfast support of Israel during the war in Gaza. Second, the prime minister voiced deep concern that younger American Christians were beginning to withhold the blind allegiance their elders have long offered.

Afterward, Franklin tweeted on X that “there is no issue more important than America’s support for Israel.”

Franklin was a member of Trump’s Evangelical Advisory Board during his first term in the White House.
