Building permits issued by the city of Gainesville last month numbered 220 for work expected to cost in excess of $13.4 million. That includes residential and commercial construction permits for both new, remodeling, additions, plumbing, electrical, etc.
There was only one permit issued for new single-family housing. That dwelling’s cost was placed at $439,000. Six remodeling projects were okayed for work expected to cost $382,000.
On the commercial side, there were two permits okayed for new construction. The price tag: $764,500. Ten remodeling projects were approved for $6.4 million in construction.
