Ga. voters can now cancel their own registration

(FROM GEORGIA NEWS NETWORK) – The state has created a website for voters to cancel their own registrations.

Monday’s move by Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s office aims to delete outdated voting registrations for people who have moved or no longer want to vote.

It enables people a quicker option to get off the voter rolls, as opposed to having to wait for the state government to confirm that they are no longer Georgia residents, a process that could take years to finalize.

The secretary of state’s office discarded 189,000 inactive voter registrations last year. The new voter registration cancellation website is available at cancelmyregistration.sos.ga.gov.
