Ga. gas prices unchanged; Hall’s down

Gas prices in Georgia are averaging $3.20 a gallon for regular unleaded for the third week in a row. But the price in Hall County is down three cents to $3.19 this week. However, the national ptice moved up and is now at $3.39. That’s an 8-cents-a-gallon increase from a week ago.

AAA says more expensive oil is a likely culprit. The cost for a barrel of oil is edging closer to $80, about $10 more per barrel than a few months ago.

“Spring is nearly here, with longer days, better weather, and more opportunities to hit the road,” said spokesman Andrew Gross added. “And we are seeing this reflected in rising gasoline demand. But remember, we see this trend every year.”

According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gas demand jumped from 8.47 to 9.01 million b/d last week.
