A Gainesville man wanted on outstanding arrest warrants by both the Gainesville Police Department and the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) was arrested Monday afternoon at a residence on Cooley Drive.
Robert Kyree Willis, 26, was taken into custody and transported to the Hall County Jail where he remains with no bond.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“The arrest warrants from HCSO involve an incident that occurred early on the morning of August 17, 2024, at a residence on March Drive. A deputy was dispatched to the residence just before 1 a.m. to investigate an assault and a theft at the home. The preliminary investigation determined Willis had entered the home and assaulted a 55-year-old male relative, striking him multiple times. The assault left the victim with visible injuries to his face, right forearm and his back. Willis also took two cell phones from the victim and then left the premises.
Warrants were taken at that time for battery and theft by taking, both misdemeanor offenses.
Gainesville Police have charged Willis in connection with an altercation involving his girlfriend, according to a spokesman, in which he “did punch her in the face and about her body with a closed fist leaving the victim with a reported broke arm and facial injuries. Willis broke the victim’s phone during the incident.”
He was among the fugitives featured on the sheriff’s office’s Aug. 7 Wanted Wednesday poster.
