A 38-year-old man wanted by the courts and two local police departments was returned to Gainesville Wednesday by Hall County sheriff’s deputies.
A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office says in addition to the courts, Jonathan Clyde Smith was also wanted by the Gainesville and Oakwood police departments.
“Our deputy picked him up at the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and brought him back here,” B.J. Williams said Thursday.
He’s facing ten charges in all:
1) THEFT BY SHOPLIFTING UNDER $500 (MISDEMEANOR)
2) THEFT BY SHOPLIFTING UNDER $500 (MISDEMEANOR)
3) FAILURE TO APPEAR FELONY (FELONY)
4) FAILURE TO APPEAR FELONY (FELONY)
5) OBSTRUCTION-RESISTING OFFICER/ARREST (MISDEMEANOR)
6) FALSE INFORMATION TO POLICE/GIVIING FALSE NAME (MISDEMEANOR)
7) CRIMINAL TRESPASS (TRESPASSING) (MISDEMEANOR)
8) FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR A TRAFFIC VIOLATION (MISDEMEANOR)
9) SURRENDER – (FAILURE TO APPEAR) AGGRAVATED ASSAULT (FELONY)
10) SURRENDER – (FAILURE TO APPEAR) HINDERING EMERGENCY TELEPHONE CALL (MISDEMEANOR)
Bond has been set at $9,250 on most of the charges but Smith is being held without bond on the Failure to Appear charges.
