Francine’s likely impact on N. GA.

As things stand now, it looks like our area will be on the outer fringes of what’s left of Tropical Storm Francine, which is expected to be a hurricane by the time it makes landfall along the gulf coast.

Forecasters say, however, we can still expect several inches of rain and wind gusts of 20-30 mph.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ADVISORY:

“An influx of tropical moisture is expected around midweek when what is currently Tropical Storm Francine moves inland over the Lower Mississippi Valley.

As a result, showers and storms will be likely on Thursday and Friday across north and central Georgia. Rainfall totals are expected to be 1-2 inches, with 2-3 inches possible in some areas.”
