Four-mile chase; arrested motorist facing 13 charges

Bond has been set at nearly $17,000 for a 23-year-old man arrested Thursday night following a chase with a state trooper that covered about four miles before ending in the Chicopee area. The state patrol says it began about 9:15 near Browns Bridge Road and Pearl Nix Parkway.

It all began when a trooper saw that a driver, later identified Allan Aguirre, was not wearing his seat belt, according to spokeswoman Courtney Lund.

“Activating his light and sirens, the trooper initiated a traffic stop on the SUV,” Lund said. “The vehicle traveled onto Pearl Nix Pkwy and turned onto Atlanta Highway and came to a stop.”

As trooper approached the vehicle, Aguirre fled initiating the chase. He traveled south on Atlanta Highway while reportedly committing several traffic violations before turning onto Mountain View Drive.

“After crossing the intersection of Mountain View Drive and Mountain View Road, the vehicle turned right onto Titshaw Drive. Troopers then performed a driver side P.I.T. Maneuver.” At that point Aguirre was arrested.
