Funeral services will be held Sunday for one of the founders of Gainesville’s Rock Creek Veterans Park. Johnny Hulsey of Cornelia died Wednesday at the age of 77.
Hulsey was an Army veteran who served in the Vietnam war. He was also the founder and longtime owner of Johnny Hulsey Truck Parts in Gainesville.
The veterans park, located across from the downtown library, is touted by the city as “the gateway into the Rock Creek Greenway” which links several parks from downtown Gainesville to Lake Lanier. It contains several memorials to local veterans.
Hulsey’s funeral will be Sunday at Little-Davenport Funeral Home at 3:00.
