Forsyth Co. wreck claims life of Gville man

A Gainesville man died Friday night when his motorcycle struck another vehicle in Forsyth County.

FORSYSTH CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE:

“On April 26th at 8:28pm, Forsyth County emergency services began receiving calls about a crash involving a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle. 

The motorcycle, a 2021 Harley Davidson Street Glide operated by 38-year-old Daniel Ericksen of Gainesville, was traveling east on Dawsonville Highway.  He was traveling behind two passenger vehicles as he approached the intersection of Crystal Cove Trail and Westbrook Rd. 

Mr. Ericksen entered the left turn lane to pass the two vehicles on the left at a high rate of speed.  At that time, a Ford Expedition began to cross Dawsonville Highway from Crystal Cove Trail on to Westbrook Road. The motorcycle struck the Expedition causing Mr. Ericksen to be thrown from the bike. 

Several witnesses attempted to render aid to Mr. Ericksen, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
