Forsyth Co. plant cited in new report on international investments in Ga.

International investment capital committed to Georgia doubled during the latest fiscal year, according to globalatlanta.com. And the website’s report includes a Forsyth County project among those highlighted: Italy’s Ficep’s Group’s which is building a $20 million plant that will assemble steel-making machinery.

After a slower fiscal 2025, Trevor Williams writes, the global segment surged to $7.8 billion as companies committed to create 9,350 jobs across the state in the year ending in June.

That amounts to more than 22 percent of the total capital investments unveiled during the year — which stood at $35.2 billion overall across 436 projects and more than one-third (about 37 percent) of the new jobs committed, which tallied to 25,300, according to the state.
