Flowery Branch traffic stop uncovers large amounts of meth, cocaine

FBPD NEWS RELEASE:

Wednesday, officers with the Flowery Branch Police Department (FBPD), working in concert with
agents from the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office and Gwinnett County Sheriff’s
Office, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Michael Anthony Berry, 57, of
Snellville, after observing multiple traffic violations.

During the stop, a Flowery Branch Police Department K-9 was deployed and alerted to the odor
of narcotics within the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed that Mr. Berry was in possession
of more than 549 grams of methamphetamine and approximately 29 grams of cocaine.

Mr. Berry was taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:
 Window Tint Violation
 Failure to Maintain Lane
 Possession of Methamphetamine
 Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine
 Trafficking Methamphetamine
 Possession of Cocaine
 Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine
 Trafficking Cocaine
