Flowery Branch PD: Jefferson man facing 18 theft-related charges + 9 others

A Jackson County man is being held in the Hall County Jail on bonds totaling $227,100 following his arrest by Flowery Branch Police on 27 charges related to his alleged theft and sale of gaming equipment that was not his.

FLOWERY BRANCH POLICE NEWS RELEASE:

“(This past Monday) Flowery Branch Police Investigators…spoke with a (man) who reported his former roommate, Jeromy Cone, 28, of Jefferson…had stolen various pieces of electronic gaming equipment from him.

Upon further investigation, Investigators discovered Mr. Cone had visited a local GameStop store (on) Spout Springs Road, on nine occasions and sold electronic gaming items belonging to the victim. During these transactions, Mr. Cone (also) used a GameStop account belonging to the victim and signed documentation attesting the product being sold was his own.

Investigators then obtained arrest warrants charging Mr. Cone with nine counts of identity theft/fraud, nine counts of theft by receiving stolen property, and nine counts of making false statements/or writings.”
