Flowery Branch getting state $$$ for lead pipe inventory

Flowery Branch, Hoschton, Cumming, Demorest and Maysville are among places in Georgia that will share in $21 million in loan and grant funding for lead service line inventory and replacement projects.

Flowery Branch is getting $120,000 to help pay for an inventory of the pipes in its water system.

The funding is from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund and the awards were announced last week by the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA). Ninety-five communities in all will benefit.
