Fire at local Gold Creek plant

GAINESVILLE FIRE DEPT. NEWS RELEASE:

“Gainesville Fire Department was dispatched to a fire alarm at 2255 White Sulphur RD (Monday night) for a fire alarm at 9:57 P.M.

Units arrived on scene to find heavy smoke coming out of the ventilation system.

A full commercial fire assignment was then called to send more units to this address.

Fire personnel found the inside of a fryer and its ventilation piping had fire inside. Fire personnel utilized an attack line to cool the system and the fryer. After the investigation had been completed, the issue was the ventilation system had shut down to early not allowing the fryer to ventilate properly. This set what was inside of the fryer on fire and then moved up through portions of the ventilation system.

(Firefights left the scene about) 11:45 p.m.”

Hall County Fire Rescue said it had personnel on the scene as well.
