The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit participated in a joint speed/distracted driving detail in the county last weekend with the help of the state patrol and issued almost 50 citations, mostly for speeding.
During the operation, deputies and troopers conducted 135 stops. Almost a third of them resulted in citations, while other drivers were warned about their speed, distractions, seatbelts, or other driving concerns. The top speed cited during this operation was 105 mph.
