FORSYTH CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE (FCSO) RECENT FACEBOOK POST:
“On June 29, a sweet visitor from Nashville walked out to her car to head home—only to discover she had picked up a very unexpected hitchhiker. A tiny kitten had somehow found her way into the underbelly of the vehicle!
Not knowing how to safely get her out, she called Forsyth County Animal Control for advice. Much to her surprise, within just 15 minutes she had an incredible rescue team by her side:

*Forsyth County Fire Department
*Deputy Mapes (who arrived with a jack to make getting under the car a little easier)
For the next hour and 45 minutes, everyone patiently worked together, coaxing, searching, and encouraging one very determined little furball to come out. Their persistence paid off, and the kitten was safely rescued—healthy, unharmed, and probably wondering why everyone was making such a fuss over her.
The story didn’t end there.
Our Nashville visitor was so touched by the compassion, teamwork, and kindness shown by everyone involved that she took the time to write a heartfelt thank-you letter to those who helped.
As for our tiny stowaway? She’s currently living her best life at the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Pet Adoption and Resource Center while she grows big enough for her forever home.
And now for the best part…
Deputy Mapes couldn’t let this little adventurer get away twice. He has officially decided to adopt her, giving our tiny hitchhiker the forever home she deserves.
