FBPD: Teenage thieves targeting Target stores

Flowery Branch Police have arrested three teenagers, two of them juveniles, on shoplifting charges growing out of an incident this fall at the Flowery Branch Target store. As it turns out, according to Assistant Police Chief Todd Templeton, the trio was apparently also involved in heists at other Target stores.

“The value of the property taken was approximately $7800.00,” Templeton added. “I do not know how many other stores were involved at this time. Due to the age of the other parties involved and the open status of the case, we cannot release any further details regarding the juveniles at this time.”  

FLOWERY BRANCH POLICE NARRATIVE:

“On 10/02/2023, a Flowery Branch Police Officer responded to a theft report at Target, 5865 Spout Springs Road.

Upon arrival, the Officer met with a business representative who reported a theft by shoplifting incident which was perpetrated on 09/16/2023 by three young individuals. The store representative advised the trio had been involved in prior thefts at other Target stores and as a result, the store representative knew the identities of the subjects.

One of the subjects was identified by the store representative as being Diana Ionita, 17, of Fort Worth Texas, and the other two as being juveniles. A theft report was completed, and the matter was referred to a Criminal Investigator for further action.

Flowery Branch Police Investigators confirmed the identity of Diana Ionita, and on 10/04/2023 obtained arrest warrants charging her with Theft by Shoplifting and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.”
