A South Hall man is being held in lieu of bonds totaling $16,750 on a number of charges growing out of his arrest last week after Flowery Branch Police responded to a report of a reckless bicyclist.
FLOWERY BRANCH POLICE DEPARTMENT (FBPD) NEWS RELEASE:
(Last Thursday) Officers responded to a report of a disorderly individual near the intersection of Phil Niekro Boulevard and Thurmon Tanner Parkway.
Upon arrival, officers learned that C’Kevian Cheeks, 23, of Flowery Branch, was riding a bicycle recklessly in traffic and had struck the window of a motorist’s vehicle while yelling obscenities. Officers attempted to place Mr. Cheeks under arrest for disorderly conduct, at which point he became combative with officers.
Mr. Cheeks was taken into custody after a brief struggle. Following his arrest, he made verbal threats toward the arresting officers. Further investigation revealed that Mr. Cheeks was in possession of identification cards belonging to other individuals without authorization.
Mr. Cheeks has been charged with the following offenses:
Disorderly Conduct
Terroristic Threats and Acts
Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer
Simple Battery
Two Counts of Identity Fraud
Mr. Cheeks was transported to the Hall County Detention Center without further incident.”
He is also being held for probation violation, according to detention center records.
