FBCC to consider bids of $5M+ for 3 projects

The Flowery Branch City Council (FBCC) Thursday will be asked to approve three bids for water system improvements and road resurfacing totaling $5.6 million.

The largest, $2.6 million, is for expansion of the city’s water treatment plant.

A low bid of $1.6 million was submitted for the resurfacing of various streets and roads. The amount budgeted for the work is $2.5 million, giving the council the option of adding more projects.

The smallest of the three projects is for the replacement of some existing water lines with larger capacity lines which city officials say will improve the flow of water. The lowest bid for that work was $1.4 million.
