FBCC agenda includes annexation proposal facing growing citizen, Hall Co. objections

A controversial annexation proposal that includes plans for a nearly 200-home townhome development is on the agenda for Thursday’s meeting of the Flowery Branch City Council (FBCC).

Hall County has formally objected to the proposal and there is growing public opposition to it, spearheaded by the Hall Informed citizens group.

“Reject annexation, protect our community!” declares a social media posting by the citizens group Hall Informed. “Show up May 7, 2026, 6:00 PM at Flowery Branch City Hall.”

The annexation was approved on first reading several weeks ago. Approval on second reading would clear the way for the developers to proceed with the construction of a 198-unit housing development.
