First Baptist Church Gainesville (FBCG) will mark its 200th anniversary with a two‑day celebration featuring family activities, food and special worship services on Aug. 15 and 16.
The event begins Aug. 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. with a corn maze, axe throwing, Kona Ice, hamburgers, hot dogs, cotton candy and popcorn. The church will also host a beards and bonnets contest, an 1826‑themed costume contest and a photo booth.
A concert by The LeFevres is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.
Festivities continue Aug. 16 with Sunday school followed by one unified worship service at 11 a.m., featuring guest speakers and special music. A covered‑dish lunch will take place after the service.
