“Those magnificent men in their flying machines” will be headed to Gainesville Saturday.
The occasion is the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 611 Fall Fly-In at Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport.
The hours are 8:00-2:00 and it will feature static displays of all kinds of aircraft, a pancake breakfast, music, food trucks and more. This is not an air show, but flights are usually offered, for a cost, by some of the pilots.
Admission: $5 at the gate (children 10 and under are free). Donations are used for the chapter’s scholarships for students attending local flight schools.
