An application has been filed with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) for a permit to apply treated wastewater on a tract of land in South Hall. The property is at 3450 North Waterworks Road.
“Having reviewed such application, the Environmental Protection Division proposes to issue (a Land Application System Permit) for a maximum term of five years the following permit subject to specific pollutant limitations and special conditions,” a notice from EPD says.
Waterside LLC of Atlanta would be allowed apply up to 21,400 gallons a day to the site. The draft permit includes language for an approved Sludge Management Plan to deliver sludge to a third party for further treatment and/or ultimate disposal.
Anyone wishing to comment should write EPD with their concerns at the address below or email to [email protected] no later than January 11. If you choose to e-mail comments, EPD says be sure to include the words “LAS permit issuance – Waterside North Water Reclamation Facility – GAJ040053 (Hall County)” in the subject line to ensure they will be forwarded to the correct staff.
A public hearing may be held if the EPD Director finds a “significant degree of public interest” in this matter.
