*Sen. Rev. Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA) has filed a War Powers resolution in the Senate to force a vote to stop to the war in Iran. Sen. Warnock explained his decision to file the resolution during a press conference in Washington. “Donald Trump said (when he was campaigning) that he was a candidate for peace,” Warnock said. “He is a warmonger…it it’s easy to get into these wars; it’s difficult to get out,” calling the one in Iran an “illegal, unwise war.”
*Georgia election offices are facing uncertainty as a state law requiring the removal of QR codes from ballots by July 1 approaches. The law mandates that scanners read printed text on ballots instead of QR codes. 13 WMAZ reports that counties must purchase new scanners, update equipment, and retrain poll workers to comply with the law. The state House passed a bill to extend the deadline to 2028, but the Senate did not vote on it. If no replacement system is in place by November, some counties may resort to hand-marked paper ballots.
*Brady Lum, the former chief operating officer of Atlanta’s High Museum of Art, was arraigned Tuesday on a federal charge of theft. Lum allegedly used his position at the High to steal more than $600,000 from the museum by doctoring invoices and approving transactions for personal purchases.
*A woman wanted in six states, including Georgia, has been added to the FBI’s “10 Most Wanted” list. There’s also a million-dollar reward for information leading to the arrest of KaShawn Roper, 50. She is wanted on several charges, including second-degree murder, related to a shooting in Kansas, Missouri. Roper, who is considered armed and dangerous, is Black, 5 feet 5 inches tall, about 120 pounds, with black hair and several tattoos. Anyone with information should contact the Atlanta FBI office.
