Elderly woman dies in Forsyth Co. crash

An elderly woman was killed Monday near Cumming when she drove her car into the path of a tractor trailer, according to authorities.

FORSYTH CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE:

“On January 29, 2024, at approximately 11:20 a.m., Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash in front of 6061 Campground Road. 

The initial investigation determined that a silver 2003 Buick Rendezvous operated by 85-year-old Joyce Crider of Alpharetta, was traveling north on Campground Road.  Ms. Crider failed to maintain her lane of travel, overcorrected her vehicle, and entered the path of a 2019 Kenworth truck.  The driver of the truck was unable to avoid the crash.  

Ms. Crider was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
