Education Impact Fee proposal; Hall courthouse renovations; Flowery Branch parking study

*Senator Greg Dolezal (R-Cumming) has introduced a bill authorizing impact fees for school construction. A senate committee has given the Georgia Development Impact Fee Act a “do pass” recommendation. Currently local governments are permitted to impose impact fees for such things as roads and sewage systems, parks and recreation facilities and libraries.

*The Hall County Board of Commissioners (HBOC) today will consider awarding a $2.3 million contract to a Stockbridge firm for “courthouse elevator modernization.” Also on the agenda are a $53,000 contract for a Flowery Branch downtown parking study, plans for a commercial kennel on Gillsville Highway near Jack Bryant Circle, and a proposed 22-lot subdivision on Lights Ferry Road near the Ford Road intersection.
