Barring any unforeseen developments, it would appear that veteran state representative Matt Dubnik of Gainesville has lost his bid for re-election, consumed by the Blue Wave that swept through Georgia Tuesday.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office reported that Dubnik, a Republican, trailed Democrat Scott Soracco 7,907 votes to 7,776 or 50.42% to 49.58%. That’s a margin of 131 votes.
