Northeast and southeast Georgia are home to the most severe conditions as the state’s drought coverage and intensity continue to shrink.
This week’s report from the U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM) shows that those two areas are the only places where you will find moderate and severe conditions. And Hall County has a little bit of both.
Seventeen percent of the state, across its midsection, is now drought-free.

The level of Lake Lanier, meanwhile, is 1065.9, down two-tenths of a foot from a week ago, according to the Corps of Engineers.
