Drought conditions now cover 64% of Georgia

That includes all of northeast and northwest Georgia. Last week that figure was 61%.

The severity ranges from Exceptional (the most severe) to Extreme to Severe. Hall County falls into the latter category as do most counties in northeast Georgia though extreme conditions have pushed through most of Dawson and Lumpkin and are knocking on Hall’s door, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.
