Driver of car involved in ‘serious injury’ accident last fall jailed

Deputies with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Warrants Service Unit have arrested a Baldwin woman in connection with a single-vehicle crash that occurred last November, seriously injuring her passenger.

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“Miranda Rose Young, 31, also was injured in the crash on Whiporwill Road the afternoon of Nov. 21, 2024.

Ms. Young was driving a vehicle northbound on Whiporwill Road approaching Joe Chandler Road when she traveled onto the opposite side of the road and then onto the shoulder, striking a tree. Ms. Young’s passenger was ejected from the vehicle, and he suffered multiple broken bones. Both Ms. Young and the passenger were hospitalized.

An HCSO Accident Investigation Unit (AIU) investigator obtained arrest warrants for the following offenses:

·         Serious injury by vehicle (felony)

·         DUI-drugs

·         Driving on the wrong side of the road

·         Driving too fast for conditions

·         Failure to maintain lane

·         Expired tag

·         Tire requirement violation

·         No safety belt

·         Probation violation

Ms. Young was served with the warrants while she was in the hospital. She was arrested Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at a residence on Hall Drive. She remains in the Hall County Jail with no bond at this time.”
