A motorist was killed early Friday when he crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer on Georgia 365 at Kubota Way.
According to the investigation conducted by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, the tractor-trailer was stopped at a traffic light at the time.
“The other driver, in a passenger car, was traveling southbound and crashed into the rear of the stopped truck,” spokeswoman B.J. Williams said. “The car became wedged underneath the truck’s rear bumper. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.”
Investigators are working to contact next-of-kin for the crash victim. His name will not be released until notification is made.
The fatal collision was first reported just after 2:40. The southbound lanes of Georgia 365 were closed for three hours during the accident investigation.
