Double-digit increases in Ga., Hall gas prices

Gas prices in Georgia and Hall County recorded double-digit increases between last Monday and today.

AAA says the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in Hall County increased 17 cents to $3.33. The statewide average jumped by 15 cents to $3.35.

The cost of oil crossing the $80 per barrel mark and gas demand popping with warmer temps and better weather are the reason, according to a AAA spokesman, who added that another critical factor is the arrival of more expensive summer blend gas, which tends to increase pump prices by 10 to 15 cents.

“This is the time of year we normally see pump prices start to rise,” said Andrew Gross said.
