Gainesville’s Department of Water Resources (DWR) Deputy Director Myron Bennett has been named to succeed current director Linda MacGregor who plans to retire Sept. 25.
“Having loyally served the Gainesville Department of Water Resources for 30-plus years, Mr. Bennett brings a unique perspective and unrivaled know-how to the role as he has worked his way up from an entry-level position to that of a department head,” said City Manager Bryan Lackey.
Bennett was hired by the city in June 1996 as a tier-one civil engineer. He has served as deputy director since December 2022.
