About 500 Democrats rallied in Cumming Sunday for their party’s presumptive nominee for president, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, headlining the gathering. The rally came one week after President Biden announced he was withdrawing from the race and endorsing his vice-president, Kamala Harris.
Beshear played down those pundits who say Harris has too much ground to make up to win against Republican Donald Trump.
“We win by staying true to our values of compassion, of empathy, of doing right by our neighbors… We win by caring and fighting for every single vote in every single county,” the two-term chief executive for the Bluegrass State said.
He and several others are on a short list to become Harris’s running mate.
Beshear also took the opportunity to slam Trump, calling him a candidate with “multiple bankruptcies and 34 felony convictions.”
