FLOWERY BRANCH POLICE DEPT. NEWS RELEASE:
“On 8/23/23, Officers with the Flowery Branch Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by John Melton, 29, Flowery Branch. During the traffic stop, Officer’s located several items suspected to contain THC oil, a schedule 1 drug. An arrest was not made at that time and the matter was referred for further investigation.
On 01/25/2024, Officers with the Flowery Branch Police Department conducted another traffic stop on a vehicle operated by John Melton. The stop was the result of an equipment violation. During the traffic stop, Officers again discovered a THC oil product in the vehicle.
As a result of the traffic stops and follow up investigation, Mr. Melton was charged with the following:
Possession of a Schedule 1 Drug (Two Counts)
Possession of a Schedule 1 Drug with Intent to Distribute
Brake Light Violation”
