December unemployment insurance claims

First-time claims for unemployment insurance last month in Georgia were up 11.1 percent but that was offset by an 11.2 percent decline in the number compared to December 2022.

Applications filed in Hall County were down from November by 7.2 percent but up from December a year ago by 22.4 percent. For the 13-county Georgia Mountains Regional Commission, which includes Hall County, claims increased 24 percent compared to November but were down 10.4 percent over the month.
