Amanda Dean has been named to a vacant juvenile court judgeship in the Northeastern Judicial Circuit which includes Hall and Dawson counties.
Announcement of her appointment was made Thursday by the circuit’s Superior Court judges. She previously served the circuit as a part-time Juvenile Court judge Pro-Tem 2019-2022.
In making the appointment, the Superior Court judges said Dean has “a deep understanding of the complex issues often facing dependent and delinquent youth” forged by her experience as a Child Welfare Law Specialist and Child Advocate Attorney.
She will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Matt Leipold in June and will assume the bench July 29.
