The National Weather Service (NWS) has revised its forecast and now says what’s left of Hurricane Francine won’t leave behind as much rain in our area as predicted earlier. But wind gusts as high as 25 mph are possible through Sunday.
Instead of 2-4 inches, we can now expect only an inch or so. As of 9:00 this morning, no measurable rain had fallen at the Gainesville airport.
The best chance of seeing higher amounts of rain is in counties along and near the Alabama border from Chattanooga to Americus. That area remains under a Flash Flood Watch.
