The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) Board of Directors awarded contracts on 18 projects recently, including resurfacing, widening and reconstruction, and bridge construction.
The largest single investment, valued at about $42 million, is a resurfacing covering 22 miles of I-185 from south of Armour Road to north of Hopewell Church Road in Muscogee County (Columbus).
The Dawson County project, the only one in area included in this round of bid letting, calls for the construction of a new bridge on Shoal Creek Road at Shoal Creek. The three-million-dollar contract went to Tally Construction Co. in Rossville. It has a scheduled completion date of Nov. 30, 2025.
