A 35-year-old Oakwood man remained in jail late Tuesday afternoon following his weekend arrest on domestic violence and child cruelty charge. Those charges were the result of an altercation with his wife which was taped by their daughter. It happened late Saturday night.
OAKWOOD POLICE NARRATIVE:
“…Officers responded to 903 Creekside Place in response to a domestic dispute in progress. The victim told the 911 dispatcher that she had got into a physical altercation with her husband, Justin Shultz, (who) had just left the residence.
Upon arrival, Officers contacted Justin while he was walking away from the residence.
The victim stated that she had been arguing with Justin in their bedroom when she arrived home at approximately (11:00). The victim stated that Justin exited the bedroom and went to the bathroom to flush methamphetamine down the toilet and that he had been smoking in their closet prior to her arrival. When he entered the bathroom, he attempted to close the door. The victim placed her foot in the doorway to prevent him from closing the door so she could see him flush the alleged methamphetamine.
Justin used his hands to push Nicole away, shoved her, attempted to bite her, then picked her up, and threw her onto the floor. After she landed on the ground, Justin entered the bathroom and shut the door.
The victim called 911. While she was on the phone with the 911 dispatcher, Justin fled the residence.
Officers observed redness on both her arms, face, bite marks on her right arm just below her elbow, and possible carpet burns on her left arm just below her elbow.
This incident was recorded (by their 13-year-old daughter on her cellphone.)”
Shultz is charged with battery under the Family Violence Act and three counts cruelty to children.
