Cumming is adding 27 security cameras to the main office of its Recreation and Parks Department.
The Forsyth Flyer reports the system will include seven exterior cameras, 17 inside the building and three covering the outdoor playground. City officials said the added surveillance will improve safety at one of Cumming’s busiest public facilities.
The building is also home to the Cumming Event Center and regularly hosts dance, art and aerobics classes, summer camps and other community programs. The steady flow of visitors throughout the day made the location a priority for upgraded security, city officials said.
The project will cost $2,654 and was recently approved by the city council.
