An arrest has been made in a theft that occurred at a Buford warehouse earlier this year.
Viraphong Tonny Sengphonexay, 35, of Cumming, was transported from the Dawson County Jail to the Hall County Jail on Monday to face a single charge of second-degree burglary.
Sengphonexay is accused of stealing a large box of roses from a warehouse belonging to Falcon Farms, a floral distribution business, on March 14. Business owners contacted the Hall County Sheriff’s Office on March 16 after they discovered a discrepancy in inventory.
With the use of surveillance video and interviews with the business owners, investigators identified Sengphonexay as the suspect in the theft. He was a former employee of the business. Total value of the stolen flowers was placed at $250.
Sengphonexay was being held without bond Tuesday afternoon.
