STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:
“Thursday at 11:40 AM, a trooper from the Gainesville Post of the Georgia State Patrol responded to Spout Springs Road to investigation a traffic crash involving a Honda Elantra and a Nissan Altima.
Upon arrival, the trooper determined the Nissan Altima was traveling north on Spout Springs Road and failed to maintain its lane, crossing the centerline. The Elantra struck the Altima in the passenger’s side, with its front.
The Altima traveled off the roadway and overturned multiple times, before coming to a final rest on its passenger’s side facing south. The Elantra rotated clockwise and came to a final rest facing north, in the southbound lane.
Driver of the Elantra, Diego A. Rodriguez (22) sustained minor injuries. Driver of the Altima, Luke I. Peoples (21) was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center and is in critical condition.”
